The joyful will stoop with sorrow, and when
you have gone to the earth I will let my hair
grow long for your sake, I will wander through
the wilderness in the skin of a lion.

you know it

i have to understand
you
your needs
your angst
your worries
your temptations
your limitations
your expectations
your nonexpectations,too.
with you running away
with you avoiding
with you busy
with you numb,to me.
just tell me one thing, what do i say when you say,if you ever do,"lets meet" ?
"Let's see", I will say just the way you do.

you know it well,i will never say it.
and
i know it very well i never can.

Go confidently

Live the life

Extension version from google-
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you've imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler.

My advisor has a mug that says 'I Hate Meetings'

flow...

you asked me, talking of holding back, can one hold back vomit/piss/shit/sneeze/tears...?

no, is the answer.but yes, is the wish.you wish if you could hold perhaps it happens coz you cant hold.this is fairly true most of the times.times when you want to express something.tears are a feeling.

vomit/piss/shit/sneeze/ are?

we hold back feelings because we feel that its dangerous to let them out? the fear of- what if i flow with the feeling?

Flowing is detaching.we miss the point and never flow.expression is a similar case.

So let us sneeze on that note! 0ne...two.. three..

can we...flow?

Buddha, caste and gender

Uma Chakravarti a historian from Miranda House College. She talked about Budhha, caste and gender quoting from primary sources like Vinaya-Pitika and Sutta-Pitika.

Caste system was not firmly established at the time of Buddhism in India.. ie till 2nd century AD. Buddha created a 'perfect world' only for monks and did not directly challenge the social order but tried to humanize it. Firmly opposed the view that Brahmins are the best etc. Supposed to eat whatever was given.. so no insistence on vegetarianism..also to avoid bhikkus from going to a particular house because he knows that the food is better there.

His cousin Ananda was a feminist and his dialogues with Budhha show that he convinced him to allow women in monastic order.

Caste system is stg that is so ingrained that even changing religion like becoming Christian or Muslim does not get rid of it.. Brahminism is convenient for maintaining status quo for rulers.

Budhha's thought/ philosophy had a relevance to the conditions of his times. Unlike Brahminical texts like Vedas that claimed to be timeless, Pitikas give a clear idea of history and actual specific places where such and such discussion took place. Books by Rhys Davids Pali Text society, Pali Canon.

Buddha opposed mindless cow sacrifices and rituals. Concept of Ahimsa got incorporated in Hinduism from Buddhism. monks not allowed to grow attached to even their robe or bowl. once a year all of their bowls n clothes were mixed in a big container and they picked new ones.
